Hörle Wire have always been quick to adopt new technology. You could say that it is bred in the bone. As early as 1917, Johan E Pettersson realised that electricity would revolutionise wire manufacturing. The same year, he started one of the first drawing mills based on electric power: Hörle Tråd & Formstiftfabrik. The mill provided local farmers with everything from hooks to barbed wire.
During the twenties, competition became fiercer, but thanks to a strategic partnership with a member of the board , as well as Hörle Tråd’s biggest customer, Edwin H Thomée, Hörle Tråd continued to expand.
As the industry developed, so did demands on quality and versatility. Consequently, when the Thomée group a few years later acquired Hörle Tråd, the decision was made that Hörle should expand by developing their collaboration with the industry.
In hindsight, it turned out to be a wise decision. We have continued to focus on close and rewarding customer relations, combined with quality and precision. It is a strategy that is appreciated by our customers and it has made us the most modern drawing mill in northern Europe as well as market leaders in Sweden, with a considerably export to the Nordic region.
